EventPlug Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026 · Applies to https://eventplug.patomconnect.com, www.patomconnect.com/eventplug, and EventPlug mobile apps

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of EventPlug, a marketplace operated by PaTom Connect ("we", "us"). By creating an account, posting an event, bidding as a provider, or using our apps or website, you agree to these Terms, the EventPlug Privacy Notice, and the PaTom Connect Terms of Service. If you register as a provider, the Provider Agreement also applies.

2. What EventPlug is

EventPlug connects hosts (people planning events) with providers (caterers, planners, and related services). Hosts post events and proposed fares; providers may accept or counter-offer. PaTom Connect provides the platform, identity review, messaging tools, and payment escrow. We are not the event organizer, caterer, or employer of providers. The contract for event services is between the host and the provider they select.

3. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must use a valid PaTom Connect account and provide accurate information.
  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
  • You are responsible for keeping login credentials secure and for activity on your account.
  • One natural person may act as both host and provider where permitted by admin rules.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.

4. Bookings, fares, and escrow

Fares are proposed by hosts and may be accepted or countered by providers. Platform fees, deposit amounts, and release rules are shown at booking and in admin settings. Unless stated otherwise, funds may be held in escrow until the event is marked complete or resolved under our cancellation and dispute process. Escrow protects payment timing; it is not insurance and does not cover injury, property damage, or losses outside the booked amount.

5. Insurance and risk

Platform. PaTom Connect maintains general business insurance appropriate to operating a technology marketplace. That coverage does not automatically insure your event, guests, or property, and does not make us liable for how providers perform their services.

Providers. Providers are independent businesses. Where your service type requires it (for example catering, equipment hire, transport, or large gatherings), you must maintain valid public liability and any other insurance required by Zimbabwe law or venue rules. We may request certificates or policy summaries during onboarding or after incidents. Failure to maintain required coverage may lead to suspension.

Hosts. You are responsible for venue permissions, guest safety, and any event insurance you need (for example public liability for private functions). You should confirm provider credentials, scope of work, and insurance before the event date.

Claims and incidents. Report safety issues, damage, or disputes promptly via support@patomconnect.com. Hosts and providers handle insurance claims with their own insurers. We may assist with information exchange and account actions but we do not adjudicate insurance payouts.

Future options. We may introduce optional protection products or partner with insurers for event or liability cover. Any such product will have separate terms shown at purchase.

6. Provider verification

Providers must complete application and verification (National ID and, where required, ID document upload and admin approval). False identity or credentials are grounds for immediate removal and referral to authorities where appropriate.

7. Acceptable use

  • No illegal events, harassment, discrimination, or off-platform payments to avoid fees.
  • No misrepresentation of services, fares, or availability.
  • Compliance with Zimbabwe law, venue rules, and applicable health and safety requirements.
  • Accurate event location and timing so providers can plan safely.

8. Cancellations, no-shows, and disputes

Cancellation and no-show fees may apply as configured on the platform. For service quality disputes, contact support with booking details. We may review messages and booking records and adjust escrow release where our policies allow. Our decision on platform actions (refunds, fees, suspension) does not replace your legal remedies against the other party.

9. Intellectual property

EventPlug branding, software, and content are owned by PaTom Connect or licensors. You grant us a license to use content you submit (event descriptions, images) to operate the service. Do not use our trademarks without written permission.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided on an "as is" basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, specific provider availability, or event outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PaTom Connect is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for acts or omissions of hosts, providers, or third parties. Our total liability for a claim relating to EventPlug is limited to the platform fees you paid us for that booking in the twelve months before the claim, except where law requires otherwise.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. You may stop using EventPlug at any time; we may suspend access for breach or risk.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where applicable. Courts in Harare, Zimbabwe have non-exclusive jurisdiction unless local law requires otherwise.
